Husøkonomi, kostøkonomi og fasilitetsstyring
Et skrift i anledning jubileum for den statlige oldfrueutdanningen (1955) og opprettelse av Statens skole for kjøkkensjefer (1956)
Abstract
In 1955, a state-funded educational programme for housekeeping managers was established, and in 1956 the National School for Head Cooks was founded. Over the following decades, the fields of training evolved towards the administration and management of general services within organisations (cleaning, institutional catering, property maintenance, etc.). Beginning with the cohort admitted in 2003, the programmes led to bachelor’s degrees. In 2020, the final bachelor’s candidates graduated, and since then only two elective courses in facility management have been offered as part of other management programmes.
This document outlines the main developments in these programmes from their establishment through to 2020, including the organisation of the studies, their academic content, and the number of graduates. It also presents some reflections on the usefulness of this type of education and raises the question of whether the time has come to re-establish a programme in general services management, particularly one oriented towards the specialisations that were previously taught.
